Hello and happy first post of 2022! I would have loved to write something on the 1st of January but you know what? The 5th has a nice ring to it, and 5 has always been one of my favourite numbers. Despite not having anything super exciting for you per se, I’m pleased to have recorded my outfits of the last five days of 2021 and first weekend of 2022 (thanks to my holiday in-house photographer, mummy dearest). So, let’s jump right into what turned out to be a surprisingly mild week and not the least bit Christmas Limbo-ish for me…
Monday
Coat, New Look. Bag, Polène. Earrings and hair scrunchie, ASOS. Tights, Gipsy. Shoes, Hobbs.
If you want to see what I was wearing underneath this coat (yes, something was worn), you can see it here – it was my pink Zara knit dress. But the undeniable star of the show is this other pink beauty. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it on New Look’s website – I mean, just look at those faux fur trims! I didn’t think I could pull it off as it’s so, so long – and to be honest, I might consider getting it shortened – but I couldn’t resist giving it a go. And surprise surprise, I love it.
Tuesday
Blazer, Zara. Top and trousers, River Island. Bag, Topshop. Beret, Accessorize. Shoes and necklace, ASOS.
I’m going to have to pat myself on the back for this outfit, as I absolutely love it. It’s a shame I’m currently working from home, as these tartan trousers would be getting out a lot more.
Wednesday
Jumper, ASOS. Trousers and bag, Zara. Trainers, Vans. Earrings, Monica Vinader.
This was a “I’m working from home but will probably go out for a walk in the evening” outfit, which was thankfully very comfortable to work in.
Thursday
Coat, gift from my mum (seen here). Jumper, Saturday by Megan Ellaby. Skirt, Vila. Beret and earrings, Primark. Necklace, H&M. Scarf, & Other Stories. Boots, Oasis. Bag, Topshop.
I first wore a version of this outfit at the end of 2019/beginning of 2020 and I loved finally revisiting it again, making it even more matchy-matchy this time.
Friday
Cardigan, New Look. Top and bag, Zara. Skirt, ASOS. Boots, Lady Cacahuete.
I kept it ‘simple’ for New Year’s Eve as I had very chilled plans – a quick catch-up with a friend and a pre-midnight walk around Southbank with my mum (sans fireworks). And your girl (or lady?) didn’t freeze to death.
Saturday
Blazer and jumper, Zara. Skirt, ASOS. Headband, Primark. Earrings, Mango. Tights, Calzedonia. Bag, Polène. Boots, Topshop.
I won’t go on about this outfit as it’s coming in a separate post – all I’ll say for now, however, is Gossip Girl, but make it 2007.
Sunday
Coat, Coster Copenhagen (seen here, here, here and here). Jumper and skirt, Zara. Earrings, Mango. Bag, Polène. Tights, Calzedonia. Boots, bought at a market.
Is that some super colour-blocking you spot there? This outfit will also be coming to a blog post near you soon.
It was nice to have a colourful, playful and not too cold week in which I got to mostly go out and actually dress up (and, fingers crossed, successfully avoided Omicron). My mum has gone back home and as I’m working from home until further notice, I feel like I’m inevitably going into some sort of hibernation period. But, I’ll be doing my best to keep the creativity going – as uncertain as things are right now, my love of style feels stronger than ever.
Pictures taken around London between December 27th, 2021 and January 2nd, 2022.
