Hello my loves – it’s been a while. I didn’t mean to disappear but life really did get in the way. I’m not complaining though – whilst many people banged on about those infamous January blues, I had a lovely January thanks to lots of social outings and new chapters. But as usual, I missed blogging more than anything – and I’m happy to say I’ve got lots of content coming right at ya.
Shockingly, I actually prefer January to February. I don’t know about you (you as in Londoners or UK residents) but I find February so, so cold! The days may be getting longer and Spring may be around the corner, but boy, I always feel like February is the month in which winter reaches its climax.
So, despite having bought just a few more jumpers to get me through this annoying coldness, I’m pretty much done. Done with winter, that is. I’m desperately waiting for Spring and all its loveliness to come by. I want to put my (albeit beautiful) jumpers away and wear carefree, floaty pieces like this pretty top by Tobi – I’m ready to get my shoulders out!
I love the lightweight feel of it and original (can I call it double-effect) cold shoulder design – I’d forgot how feminine it feels to reveal them shoulders. I also love how the ever so slightly sheer sleeves have a relaxed feel, and let’s not forget the floral print – I’ll never not find florals for Spring groundbreaking.
There fact that it’s just a little on the cropped side doesn’t – for a change – bother me, as I kind of love where it sits on my shortish body. I also found a piece in my wardrobe that complements, if I may say so myself, the length of this top perfectly. Yes, it’s winter and in one way it felt so wrong to get these shorts out of their hibernation period – but oh so right too!
And because these days it’s pretty much impossible for me not to include some form of brightness in my ootd’s, I used the oldest trick in the fashion book and threw in a splash of colour with some of my accessories. First up, I’m delighted to have grabbed myself this beret in Primark last week – because who knew how satisfying it could be to match your boots to your beret?
It may only be February but 2018 has brought a new obsession into my life – round bags. I went a little cray cray and bought three within one week (I know, this girl got problems), one of them being this little beauty from Primark. I know, I know – it’s got Chloe written all over it but let’s face it, my bank account loves me for getting this one instead.
As for these super cheerful pink boots, they were a perfect sale buy from last December. I’d had my eye on them for quite a few months, initially not feeling like I could justify a pair of pink boots. Oh, how wrong was I – but how I right I was to hold out and wait for them to go half price.
These pictures are fresh out the oven – they were in fact taken today! But don’t be fooled by those wonderful rays of sunshine, as it was super cold yet again. At least there really isn’t that long to go until Spring.
As as for not being a big fan of February, well, there’s one thing worth celebrating this month – on the 9th of February my blog turned 8 years old! My baby’s getting old! I can’t believe it’s been 8 years since I created this little space on the internet, and I especially can’t believe that as time goes by I still don’t get tired of it and seem to love it more and more. So here’s to hopefully another 8 years of fashion, style and a little extra – I can’t wait to see what the future holds. Speaking of the future, please come soon, SS’18!
