Sorry guys, I’m not talking about London’s vanished Crystal Palace, but about another glass wonder that was built 36 years after its London counterpart. The day I visited it feels like a lifetime ago – a time when I had my legs out, saw the sun and explored a beautiful city. Indeed, these pictures were taken close enough to two months ago, whilst discovering Madrid’s charming Crystal Palace in Buen Retiro Park.
I love this Topshop top – I came across it on a sale rail in Topshop either in September or August and was instantly drawn to it. I loved the silk-like fabric, cut-out details on the shoulders and hemline and rather luxurious feel of it.
The boxy fit is very different to what I have in my wardrobe, but as I have already experienced the ‘no-waist’ look with this skirt and my dolphin top, I am liking the change. I won’t be ditching my waist completely as it’s one of my ‘strengths’ so to say, but I’m pleased to say boxy is no longer a complete foreign land to me.
It’s bizarre how it’s not really that long ago since I wore this super summery outfit and yet it’s now sadly too chilly to be running around so freely.
Isn’t the Crystal Palace a beautiful piece of art? I love the romantic and vintage feel of it – it needn’t be an exhibition space as its windows are already so bewildering.
Lips, lips, lips. This statement clutch was my travel buddy in Madrid, instantly livening up my simple outfits.
The park’s nature makes a pretty good backdrop too – especially when the sun is blazing and the leaves are falling.
Back in the present, even though I am stuck in the grey, miserable and chilly London, I am still going to parks – as expected, with a couple of more layers.
