Chapter 68: The French Connection Skirt

Oh my, there are so many #ootd’s lying about in my draft that I just can’t catch up! I was unsure about sharing these pictures as I wasn’t really pleased with them, but I thought I might as well give my French Connection skirt its 15 minute of fame.

Skirt, French Connection. Jacket, Wallis (thrifted). T-shirt, Whistles. Earrings, Pink Lovebird. Necklace and bag, Accessorize. Ring, Ă…land. Brogues, NW3.

Last year I broke my midi skirt inhibitions and embraced this trend in all its glory, as seen here, here and here. Having said that, I’m still not 100% about them and they will most certainly never replace my love for shorter skirts. But as you can see, I am still infatuated with them.

About two months ago I walked past a French Connection store and spotted this beauty. I honestly can’t say what drew me to it – it must have been its bright, cheerful colours and pleats.

As seen on my Instagram, it became one of my favourite, most used summer skirts. Work, play… I feel like it’s one of those skirts one can wear for so many things.

And how bizarre is it when you find a piece of street art that heavily resembles the print on your skirt? I’m more than happy to have a piece that reminds me of Dan Kitchener‘s amazing wall in Camden.

These pictures were taken all the way back in July, and technically I could easily be wearing this outfit now if I wanted to. But my skirt is currently hibernating as I’ve gone back to black tights – yes, I don’t normally do the switchover so early on but lately I’ve been feeling the cold way too much in this city. So bare with me as I share a few more late, summery posts – I’m more in the mood for reminiscing about summer than styling for autumn atm!

Photographed in Camden Town on July 25th, 2015.
