On Monday I left the coldness of London for the warm and beautiful tranquillity of Malaga. It’s been a crazy year for me in terms of travelling and I really didn’t expect to have yet another holiday after flying home last month for a few days. But this last-minute (and thankfully not too costly) decision was one of the best I made – the weather in Malaga was amazing and it served as a perfect break from the stress of the British capital. London I love you but sometimes you are a headache. Everyone kept telling me that I had been extremely lucky with the weather – I like to think that Malaga is amazing enough to have the sun stick around for Christmas. I was pretty wise with my packing and made a point of making my life easier with packing just dresses.
In hindsight, I could have done with an extra cardigan – although kudos to my little burgundy cardigan for matching four of my dresses. And whilst my beautiful new black brogues – found at my favourite Spanish shop La Cle de Bilbao last month – did an excellent job, I so could have done with a sun-friendly, preferably nude pair of shoes and nude tights (black brogues and bare legs are so not a good look).
Life was pretty heavenly from Monday to Saturday, but sadly it was back to freezing feet on Sunday. I think Malaga has spoilt me – I don’t know how I’m going to survive the next few months in style. Oh dear, that’s a very negative way to end the post – let’s just say I’m lucky to have had five days of summer in December!
