So it turns out Dubai is an amazing place for a wedding. For starters, my friend’s big day was at the incredible Westin Hotel – I almost fainted when walking into the lobby. The intimate ceremony started at approximately 6pm, not too long before catching the beautiful sunset. I’ve now reached the conclusion that there’s nothing quite like a wedding out in the open, steps away from the beach when the sun is going down (followed by a cosy buffet banquet and dancing in a ball-like room). Pure bliss.
Exactly one year after my first wedding in over a decade, this wedding is the first of four that I shall be attending this year. Yep, I’ve gone from never getting an invitation to being a frequent wedding attendee. Year of the weddings – expect more posts like this one in the coming months!
