A pool view at the gorgeous D-Hotel Maris near Marmaris, Turkey.
The view from my hotel room.
This was the view from the bathtub room!
I was pleasantly surprised to find two delicious macaroons in my room.
Staring out at the deep blue sea.
My DIY pedicure survived the trip with ease!
It’s not often one gets to chill on a near-empty beach.
They say water doesn’t have a colour – well, I’d never seen such a beautiful shade of turquoise.
Holiday look 1: my ever so faithful Zara LWD (seen here), new Primark cardi (April Shopping list) and Hobbs flats (seen here, worn throughout).
Watching the sunset on a quiet hill.
The sun, the sand, and ice tea – bliss.
Holiday look 2: I’m in love with my H&M dress (April Shopping list).
The highlight of the trip – a boat trip!
I’m on a boat! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, click here.
The peaceful and picturesque town of Datça.
I couldn’t get over the pretty boats and beautiful sea, it felt so idyllic and serene.
Holiday look 3: Hobbs cardi, NW3 top and River Island long shorts – wardrobe oldies worn for the sad trip back to London.
I had the pleasure of seeing Turkey for the first time ever thanks to a work assignment – since it was a bit last-minute I didn’t get a chance to mention it on the blog before leaving. Actually, I’d rather refer to it as spontaneous – I love that word and I feel that can easily be missed in a fast-paced city like London. Despite being there for just a few days, it was one of the best breaks I’ve ever had. D-Hotel Maris was such a beautiful place and the trip had all the necessary ingredients that I believe make a perfect holiday – a beach, culture, exquisite food and lots of relaxation. I have always wanted to visit Turkey and I finally got the chance to do so – however, I still don’t feel like I can cross it off my list of places to see. This trip has made me want to go back and explore as much of that fascinating country as possible – if anything, it served as a delicious appetizer that has made me even more eager to try the full menu. Until next time…
