|Cream wing-like earrings, colour-block earrings and drop earrings with knots, all Topshop. Watering can pendant, Primark.|
Two days ago I was a little naughty and got one necklace from Primark and a few earrings from Topshop’s jewellery sale. At times I find jewellery even harder to resist than clothes – I’ve always been a huge jewellery addict and it’s fair to say I used to be more passionate about it than clothes. Plus, while my wardrobe is bursting, there’s always more room for a few bits and pieces, isn’t there. Not for much longer though – I really, really need to get some kind of storage for my ever-growing collection. About these pieces (hope you like the very descriptive ‘names’ I’ve come up with)…
Wing-like earrings: The last few years I’ve been into big statement earrings, and studs have not really caught my eye. Now I’ve become more open to suggestions – studs can make a statement too, just as long as the design is eye-catching and a decent size. I love this pair because they’re really elegant and vintage-looking, they’re perfect for my neutral fetish and most importantly, they’re still noticeable.
Colour-block earrings: I just love the colour-block effect! My love for the 80’s comes across with this pair – wouldn’t you say they have a ‘Miami Vice’ vibe? Yep, that’s a good thing.
Drop earrings with knots: I’m pretty sure I was actually looking for something like this, so it was a bonus to find them in the sale. I think they’re the perfect balance between dainty and striking: they’re very light and sophisticated but because they’re long they still make a statement. I’d like to think that Belle de Jour would wear something like this – I know, a little worrying that I wish to emulate a call girl’s style…
Watering can pendant: How cute is this? I actually already have a watering can pendant – but that one is blue. And this one is an irresistible pink. I guess I’m a big kid.
When it comes to jewellery I tend to go for about four different types: chic (the first pair), 80’s (second pair), statement (third pair) and kitsch (fourth). I really need to start featuring more jewellery on the blog – it’s actually a big part of my style but tends to get hidden by my hair, in all honesty. I have another pair of earrings that I got recently and that I can’t wait to blog about – stay tuned!
