|Top, Primark. Shorts, River Island. Leather bag, Zara. Brogues, River Island (as seen here, here and here). Jewellery, presents from my mum.|
April is my favourite month of the year. Not too sure why – probably because the days get longer, spring is in the air, flowers are blossoming everywhere and summer is around the corner. All of a sudden, feeling happy seems so much easier.
Spotted this cute little top in Primark the other day and couldn’t resist. I think it might be one of those items that disappear really quickly, there was only one left in my size. I love the fabric and the bow galore, as well as its creamy colour.
I think these neutral shorts are exactly what I needed. I’m still getting used to their shape – they’re very high-waisted and I feel I need to be careful with what I match them with, yet at the same time they’re proving to be quite versatile. It’s like they adapt perfectly to so many of my tops, whatever the style. Oh, how I love multi-tasking garments!
I found it very strange how this bag had a magnet effect on me – I couldn’t help but grabbing it the minute I saw it. It’s strange because yellow – or any of its mustard equivalents – is not something that you will see much of in my wardrobe. But I think that’s what makes this bag so charming. And you’d be surprised how much can actually fit in it.
Yes, it was a lovely day alright but I did end up feeling the breeze, so a cardigan had to come on (and eventually I also tucked in my top, which I think I prefer). It’s another cardigan from my workplace, NW3, and part of my uniform attire. I’m still unsure about the overall look of the cardigan with the other pieces, but for some reason I love how it looks with the bag.
Outfit conclusion? I felt a bit strange leaving my house like this, but after looking at these pics I didn’t actually find it that bad. Still, not sure I would wear it again – I would ditch the black tights, choose a different cardigan and maybe wear some flats instead of these brogues (or go for a socks and shoes look). And a nice tan would help. But hey, where’s the fun in fashion if you don’t try different things, right? Hope everyone has had a lovely start to April, more spring-like posts to follow soon.
