I’m having a busy week and sadly no time for any fun picture sessions. But I really felt like doing an outfit post, so after a little digging up I managed to find these pictures. I guess in the blogging world they’d be considered ‘vintage’ – they were taken last summer, and for some reason I just never got around to posting them. Me and a few friends spent a lovely weekend in a quiet town near Oxford… overdressed, anybody? Even though it was summer I remember feeling a tad chilly wearing just the blazer…
Wow, I look worryingly ecstatic in the second photograph… This blazer is a treasure that I found online, I bought it from one of my favourite blogs’ shop, The Haute Pursuit! What can I say, a white blazer with black detailing gets me every time. The dress was probably one of my top 2010 bargains – I got it in Primark for something ridiculously cheap, like 6 or 8 pounds. Ah, the wonders of that shop… I love the cut-out heart back and its overall excessive girlishness, it feels like a prom dress that I can wear during the day. The back detail is a nice reminder of Luella’s last collection (Spring 2010), which sadly never even went into production…

Here are some other pictures I found (again, from the summer), in which I matched the blazer with my pink dress from ASOS, also very girlie in its own way. Looking back (which makes it sound like it was decades ago), I don’t think I’d match this blazer with these sorts of dresses again, I’d probably stick to something safer and more androgynous, like denim shorts and a pocket tee (yawn)… but hey, try everything once, right?
Just looking at these pictures makes me crave for blazer weather – as much as I love my coats, there’s nothing as effortless as just throwing on a blazer and going straight out the door. Please Spring, come back soon – we miss you.
