Okay, so apart from this being my first post in 2011 (yay!) this is what I guess can be called my first, here it goes, beauty post. I don’t want it to be a one-off, but I certainly can’t pretend it’s going to be a regular thing either. Overall, I am embarrassingly clueless when it comes to the beauty department, so I will leave the serious stuff to the experts, like my friend Louise.
Still, as an aspiring beauty junkie, I get a great kick out of purchasing beauty products, and I’d been wanting to get a new perfume for a while. As well as having to find a scent that I would instantly love, it had to make my wallet happy too – and Nina by Nina Ricci seemed just right. Shockingly, I’m not one of those people who care almost as much about the packaging as they do about the perfume, but the fact that it comes in a (very cute) apple-shaped bottle doesn’t hurt.
Now here comes the difficult part: if I had to describe the scent, I’d say it’s a very fresh perfume, not elegant (and I don’t mean that in a bad way) and very girlie, it really reminds me of the summer (How one can work as a sales person in a perfume counter is a mystery to me, I obviously wouldn’t be any good at it). In short, all I can say is that I really like this perfume, and doesn’t it kind of make sense to start the new year with a new scent? The only bad thing is that it probably won’t last that long, since I tend to go overboard when spraying – what can I say, I get carried away.
There’s not really any difference between this picture and the first, I’m just celebrating the fact that I’ve finally got my very own camera, so no more borrowing, my friends will be happy to hear. It’s a discreet – but pink, nevertheless – Canon, not a fancy SLR but a lovely little thing that will be more than enough whilst I save up for the camera of my dreams. New camera, new perfume… yep, I’ve had a good start to 2011 so far.
