October hasn’t been the most prolific month for me in terms of blogging, but I’ve certainly tried to keep myself busy with job hunting and partying (can’t have no work without play). And although I’ve now got a part-time job (it feels like it’s full time though!), I still want to keep this blog alive and kicking… so hopefully I will have some outfit posts soon! Firstly I want – no, need – to post about Rihanna’s new music video, Only Girl. I think anyone who loves fashion (and especially the whole photographic aspect of it), has to love this clip, whether they like the song or not. I personally do like the song but am crazy about the video. It’s incredibly simple yet effortlessly pretty and arty – I got carried away taking screen shots because every screen shot is like a fashion photograph. Whoever directed/art-directed this has a great eye (and a passion for fashion or at least vintage photographs?). The lady herself isn’t too bad – I love Rihanna’s attitude, she’s so confident and naturally sexy.
The lighting in the clip is beautiful, as well as the super edited choice of colours…
These floral images could easily be part of an add for a fragrance…
I love the field of puppies, it’s strange yet romantic, very picturesque indeed…
Every girl should have a giant pink rose cushion…
If I had to choose one favourite element in the clip, it would be the balloons, which remind me of one of my favourite ad campaigns, Miss Dior Cherie (by Sofia Coppola, of course)…
What better way to end than with fireworks, of course…
Now what fashionista couldn’t feel inspired after watching this? Along with Rude Boy, this is definitely my favourite music video of Rihanna’s. I wonder whether I will watch it again in 10 years time and have one of those “What was I thinking?” moments… I doubt I will!
