I love jumpsuits – it’s no surprise they keep coming back to the fashion radar. Yet I have always been a bit wary of them, as they remind me of dungarees – which are just a little too reminiscent of my childhood – and I feel they’re just one of those tricky pieces to pull off if like me you’re short and not stick thin. I doubt I’ll ever be the owner of a full-length all-in-one, but when a few months ago I spotted this cropped version in the sale section at Urban Outfitters, I thought “Maybe, just maybe…” I was pleasantly surprised with how it looked, and it became my first ever jumpsuit (Or is it technically called a playsuit? These fashion terms can be confusing). My final say? Despite being slightly adverse to practicality, I think jumpsuits can be a fresh alternative to the usual suspects (dresses, separates, etc.).
Since I’ve got a little too much free time on my hands I went to the Grace Kelly exhibition at the V&A on Monday – worth the £6 – and afterwards my friend was kind enough (or forced, depending on how you look at it) to take this pic of my jumpsuit combo.
Loving all the spring greenness behind me… thank God the weather has finally picked up a little, although the highlights of May 2010 have been the UK elections that I wish I could have voted for and the annoying volcanic ash.
Oh gosh, I have to stop commenting but then I scroll down and find another post I reeeaaally have to comment on! 😛
Did you know we have almost matching jumpsuits? They're so similar! My blogmate Itziar and I got ours (in navy, as well) at Oysho 🙂
